I purchased the Sport Ease magnets a few years ago as a tool for my university classes - and use them on a regular basis. Students use them to explain positions and tactics to their peers. I use them to manage the structure of the class, which is organized in a modified Sports Education model. The transparencies save a lot of time and the magnets are both a visual and a manipulative learning tool.

Olmsted Falls Middle School

The deluxe teaching box has been a wonderful resource in our physical education classes. Instead of using a dry erase marker to draw the offense, defense, or player positions, we simply use the disc magnets. They are easy to move, and we avoid the daily cleanup of messy markers! We also love the Physical Education National Standards whiteboard. We use it every day to write our lesson objectives and "I Can" statements. It is evidence to our students, parents, and other staff members that not only the "core curriculum" educators teach to the standards!

I received my Teacher's Box this quarter for one of my classes. I showed my professors and their reaction was exciting. My professor and I agreed that these boxes help keep that educational base for physical education. PE is constantly thought of as a play period for many students. It's time we bring back that instructional approach and really get students to discover the importance of skill.
